Tar is obtained naturally through the dry distillation of birch wood. It appears as an oily, dark-colored liquid characterized by a pungent odor, but above all, it has invaluable properties: anti-dandruff, antifungal, disinfectant, anti-itching, antiseptic, and antiparasitic.
Furthermore, tar has a soothing and nourishing effect, positively impacting the well-being of those struggling with skin problems.

Deodorant and antiperspirant – what is the difference and when to use them?
Natural deodorant is becoming increasingly popular in many bathrooms and beauty cabinets, which we're thrilled about, as we know from experience (ours and yours) that it's an effective alternative to antiperspirant, which disrupts a vital physiological process: sweating. Find out how both products work and discover the Starling family of cream deodorants, which now includes—wait for it—seven new members. Why do we sweat? What role does sweat secretion play? Sweat glands are found almost everywhere on the body, but are most numerous on the feet and hands. Although palms can sweat profusely under stressful circumstances, the armpits and feet are more likely to cause discomfort, such as unpleasant odor. Almost 99% of sweat is composed of water. The remaining 1% is made up of various compounds, including ammonia, urea, lactate, and minerals (potassium, magnesium, calcium, and sodium). The exact composition of sweat is individual and depends primarily on health, diet, hydration level, and medications. Hormonal factors and climatic conditions also play a role. Sweat itself is odorless. An unpleasant, distinctive odor appears when bacteria living on human skin begin to break it down. The primary role of sweat is to ensure the body's thermal balance . Sweating during physical activity and in hot weather cools the body and lowers its temperature. Sweating cleanses the body, removing toxins , and ensures proper functioning by maintaining homeostasis. Some people struggle with hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. This can be a unique characteristic of a given person (known as primary hyperhidrosis) or a symptom of a medical condition. If this condition bothers you, start by seeing a doctor and getting tested, not with a blocker or a strong antiperspirant. Antiperspirant vs. deodorant – properties and differences Sweating is an important mechanism necessary for the body to maintain a healthy balance. Deodorant does not disrupt this phenomenon , thus not interfering with the natural physiological process. Its purpose is different: it eliminates unpleasant odor, absorbs excess sweat, and provides comfort, acting in a way that is natural to the body . Antiperspirant, on the other hand, limits sweat production. One of the most effective substances in this regard is aluminum compounds. Upon contact with the skin, they form a gel that clogs the superficial openings of the sweat glands that evacuate sweat. Thus, antiperspirant mechanically blocks the sweating process and clogs skin pores, which is not good for the body. A common reason for using this type of cosmetic is its effective absorption of odor and provides all-day comfort. What if you had access to a natural deodorant that nourishes the skin, leaves a long-lasting feeling of freshness, and is impressively effective? The list includes diatomaceous earth, baking soda or magnesium hydroxide (depending on the product variant), white clay, shea butter, potato starch, vegetable glycerin, coconut oil (and other oils), arrowroot (which absorbs excess sebum and—crucially for us—sweat), vitamin E, essential oils, and several other valuable substances. Despite some people's concerns, this product can be truly effective, providing a feeling of comfort all day long! What exactly does Starling Natural Deodorant do? Eliminates the unpleasant smell of sweat Absorbs moisture Soothes irritations caused by shaving the armpits Regenerates the skin and prevents chafing Has a bactericidal effect Softens the skin and helps heal imperfections Contains ingredients with disinfecting properties We started the "Natural Deodorants" section with a citrus-herbal variant using baking soda. It quickly received the attention and love it deserved. Soon, you came back to us with two requests: an unscented version and one without baking soda, as baking soda could sometimes play tricks on allergy sufferers. So we expanded our product range and now offer options for everyone. Cream deodorant – unscented or scented? Although starling deodorants don't have very intense scents and are based on essential oils, we know that not everyone is comfortable with them. If you enjoy the light aromas of citrus, herbs, and other botanicals, check out these versions. However, if you have very sensitive noses, don't like essential oils, or don't want your deodorant to clash with your perfume, choose the unscented version. Which fragrance-free deodorant should I choose? If you are looking for a deodorant with a neutral aroma, we have two options for you: Natural cream deodorant - fragrance-free: its natural ingredients absorb moisture and, despite the lack of essential oils, effectively neutralize unpleasant odors, leaving the skin dry and well-groomed; this version contains baking soda, so it will be a good option for those who are not fond of it under their arms Delicate cream deodorant - fragrance-free: is a variant for people with sensitive skin; instead of baking soda, it contains magnesium hydroxide, which neutralizes odors and supports the process of soothing irritations. It also improves the condition of the skin, soothes and softens it. Scented deodorants with pleasant notes We have more of these on board, here they are: Natural cream deodorant - citrus-herbal: holds a special place in our hearts: it was with it that this cosmetic era in our history began, and it is probably the one that most often appears in your homes and is taken on many trips; it contains sodium bicarbonate (commonly known as baking soda) and all other important substances that make the product neutralize unpleasant odors, have antibacterial properties, absorb sweat well, and have a refreshing effect – the fresh scent, which combines green lemon, grapefruit, and Spanish sage oils, has won many hearts. Delicate cream deodorant - tangerine: another nod to those armpits that don't like baking soda – we've once again replaced it with magnesium hydroxide; shea butter and evening primrose oil soothe irritations and help various abrasions heal better, while tangerine and bergamot essential oil is a blend of fragrances that add energy and vigor and put you in a good mood.
