How to choose a perfect shampoo bar

How to choose a perfect shampoo bar

SHAMPOO BAR - FOR NORMAL, DRY, OILY HAIR

On cosmetics packaging we often see suggestions for what type of hair a given washing product is recommended for: for dry or normal hair, for oily hair, or any type of hair. These markings are very helpful, but it should be remembered that the type of hair a person has is primarily determined by the scalp, its behavior and condition. This can be compared primarily to facial skin - you choose products according to its type, how it reacts, etc. In the case of the scalp, how the scalp behaves also affects the hair. The easiest way to explain this is with the example of oily hair - when the head gets oily quickly, the sebum secretion by the glands is quite intense, the secretion is transferred to the hair, leaving a noticeable oily coating. Thanks to this observation, we can easily determine the type of hair as oily. The aforementioned coating appears quite quickly after the last hair wash, which is usually necessary in such a case, daily. When the scalp is dry, we can observe that our hair does not get oily at all, and if such a need arose, we could wash it very rarely. Of course, we do not recommend long intervals between washes, although sebum does not collect at the roots of the hair and the hair looks quite fresh, it can collect impurities from the external environment, e.g. dust. Dry hair also needs large doses of moisture to be loose and soft. Normal hair, on the other hand, can be placed in the middle of the two types described above - a few days have passed since the last wash, and then a slight greasiness appears caused by the action of the glands of the scalp. When buying a shampoo bar, first think about how the shampoo works on the scalp. Thanks to this, you will also take care of the condition of the hair itself.

UNIVERSAL SHAMPOO

This is the first shampoo bar that was created under the wings of Szpaks. Due to its universality, it has become an uncompromising bestseller not only among our other cosmetics, but also in its product category. Anyone who has tried it once will never think the same about a regular shampoo. The universal shampoo is as effective as many bottles of liquid shampoo.

The basic ingredients of the shampoo are of course washing raw materials (washing is also the basic function of this product, so their quantity is always significant), which in terms of their cleansing power can be classified into three groups: strongly cleansing, medium cleansing and delicate washing raw materials. The universal shampoo in a bar contains washing detergents such as Sodium Coco Sulfate and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, which are surfactants of plant origin, and Decyl Glucoside, which is a delicate and natural washing agent. This arrangement and type of washing agents makes the universal shampoo a product of medium cleansing power. This means that it is an ideal product for everyday use for normal, slightly oily skin and all hair types. The shampoo also contains other raw materials such as red clay or essential oils responsible not only for the pleasant smell during use. Coconut oil has antiseptic, nourishing and antifungal effects. At the same time, thanks to the addition of coconut oil, the shampoo naturally foams beautifully. Other oils such as shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba oil are valuable ingredients that moisturize, nourish and make hair more elastic. In the case of shampoo, we also do not forget about the beautiful scent - in 4Szpaks, it is primarily the essential oils that are responsible for it, which the shampoo bar contains. It can be lemongrass oil, geranium oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil, or even vanilla oil. They not only smell beautiful, but thanks to their valuable properties, they also contribute to improving the condition of the hair.

If you have not yet had contact with shampoo bars and do not know which shampoo will work well for your daily care - the orange bar cleanses the hair thoroughly but not aggressively and will perfectly cope with the daily care of your hair.

DELICATE SHAMPOO

If you struggle with sensitive scalp, then a gentle shampoo is just for you. Using any shampoo on sensitive scalps can be a bit problematic - after use, the skin often becomes itchy or burning. There may be severe skin dryness, dandruff (which is classified as a skin disease) or even atopic dermatitis of the scalp. The main role in balancing the scalp with such symptoms (or to avoid them) is to use products that contain gentle cleansing substances. Their task is to cleanse the scalp so as not to damage its protective layer, but to get rid of dirt, deposited dust and sebum. The composition of a gentle shampoo is typical PEH, composed of proteins, emollients and humectants. It contains natural detergents, butters (shea butter, cocoa butter) and vegetable oils. Despite its rich oil composition, it does not weigh down the hair, but makes it light and soft, and, above all, cleanses and soothes the scalp (D-phenol, bisabolol).

The shampoo can also be used for all hair types as a gentle cleansing product, and its use can be easily alternated with a universal shampoo.

PS this cube is also great for washing the body :)

NORMALIZING SHAMPOO

The proud younger brother of the universal shampoo. Its appearance resembles its older sibling, but the addition of rosemary essential oil has given it the status of a hair freshness extender. That is why it has been called a normalizing shampoo, which thoroughly and effectively cleanses the scalp, and many opinions on our website show that it also extends the period between subsequent washes - that is why it is recommended for all types of hair, with particular emphasis on oily hair. It can be safely said that rosemary oil (accompanied by tangerine) has worked great with medium-strength washing ingredients, giving the bar even greater cleansing and refreshing properties. Thanks to this, washing normal, oily or other hair that needs cleansing will become a real pleasure.

DETOXIFYING SHAMPOO

The youngest member of the Szpak shampoo family, which despite its young age has already gained more than one fan with its power and scent. The detoxifying shampoo is undoubtedly characterized by the strongest cleansing power of all the Szpak bars. It contains active bamboo charcoal, which is a valued ingredient in the care of skin prone to oiliness, and burdock extract, famous for its properties that strengthen hair to the roots. The shampoo is perfect for people who use stylers or dry shampoos to thoroughly remove such products from their hair. And finally, its scent... definitely different than its three predecessors. Created from a combination of essential oils such as grapefruit, sage, lavender, geranium and patchouli - it will certainly appeal to lovers of heavier fragrance notes, as well as men.

HOW TO USE SHAMPOO BAR?

Using shampoo in this form is not particularly difficult. Shampoo in a bar is such a universal cosmetic that it can be used in several ways. We squeeze wet hair lightly with our hands, then wet the bar, rub it in our hands and spread the resulting foam on the scalp, at the roots and all over the damp hair. We can also wash our hair using the so-called cup method, when we pour some water into a closing box, place the bar (or its cut part), cover it with a lid and shake vigorously until the right amount of foam is produced. We apply the foam in the same way as in the case of creating it in the hands along the entire length of the hair. There is another method, where damp hair should be rubbed with the shampoo bar until foam is produced. Personally, we do not recommend this method because rubbing could damage and condition the hair. The method of washing should also be adapted to the type of hair. The natural composition of the cosmetic is one thing, the method of its application - another. A more gentle solution is to wash with just foam. After using shampoo, apply your favorite conditioner to your hair to add softness and provide it with the right ingredients.

HAIR SOAP

The review of hair cleansing cosmetics cannot end without mentioning the first product of this type in the Szpacz offer. Although the production method and composition make hair soap a completely different product than a shampoo bar or liquid shampoo, before our sweeper appeared - universal shampoo, the cleansing section was worthily represented by hair soap, which contains plant extracts, saponified fatty acids, and among them a large amount of castor oil, an ingredient that has been used for hair care for generations. Castor oil is famous for its wonderful effect on the density and softness of hair. With regular use, it is able to thicken hair, which grows much thicker, healthier and stronger. Unlike traditional shampoos, soap does not contain artificial dyes, of course. The soap bar, like the shampoo bar, is very efficient.

Despite the emergence of an alternative in the form of shampoo bars, hair soap still has its fans and anyone who is even slightly interested in hair care should try this classic with a minimalist composition. It is worth remembering, however, that hair soaps, due to their alkaline pH, can make the hair rough and unpleasant to the touch. Therefore, the care should be supplemented with a vinegar rinse, which will reduce the alkaline pH.

Deodorant and antiperspirant – what is the difference and when to use them?
Natural deodorant is becoming increasingly popular in many bathrooms and beauty cabinets, which we're thrilled about, as we know from experience (ours and yours) that it's an effective alternative to antiperspirant, which disrupts a vital physiological process: sweating. Find out how both products work and discover the Starling family of cream deodorants, which now includes—wait for it—seven new members. Why do we sweat? What role does sweat secretion play? Sweat glands are found almost everywhere on the body, but are most numerous on the feet and hands. Although palms can sweat profusely under stressful circumstances, the armpits and feet are more likely to cause discomfort, such as unpleasant odor. Almost 99% of sweat is composed of water. The remaining 1% is made up of various compounds, including ammonia, urea, lactate, and minerals (potassium, magnesium, calcium, and sodium). The exact composition of sweat is individual and depends primarily on health, diet, hydration level, and medications. Hormonal factors and climatic conditions also play a role. Sweat itself is odorless. An unpleasant, distinctive odor appears when bacteria living on human skin begin to break it down.  The primary role of sweat is to ensure the body's thermal balance . Sweating during physical activity and in hot weather cools the body and lowers its temperature. Sweating cleanses the body, removing toxins , and ensures proper functioning by maintaining homeostasis. Some people struggle with hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. This can be a unique characteristic of a given person (known as primary hyperhidrosis) or a symptom of a medical condition. If this condition bothers you, start by seeing a doctor and getting tested, not with a blocker or a strong antiperspirant. Antiperspirant vs. deodorant – properties and differences Sweating is an important mechanism necessary for the body to maintain a healthy balance. Deodorant does not disrupt this phenomenon , thus not interfering with the natural physiological process. Its purpose is different: it eliminates unpleasant odor, absorbs excess sweat, and provides comfort, acting in a way that is natural to the body . Antiperspirant, on the other hand, limits sweat production. One of the most effective substances in this regard is aluminum compounds. Upon contact with the skin, they form a gel that clogs the superficial openings of the sweat glands that evacuate sweat. Thus, antiperspirant mechanically blocks the sweating process and clogs skin pores, which is not good for the body. A common reason for using this type of cosmetic is its effective absorption of odor and provides all-day comfort. What if you had access to a natural deodorant that nourishes the skin, leaves a long-lasting feeling of freshness, and is impressively effective? Discover Mydlarnia Cztery Szpaki's natural deodorants, which have won over many skeptics. Perhaps no other product has generated so many surprised and delighted "it really works!" stories.  Natural deodorant – a natural alternative with great possibilities When developing the formulas for our natural deodorants, we focused on proven active ingredients. The list includes diatomaceous earth, baking soda or magnesium hydroxide (depending on the product variant), white clay, shea butter, potato starch, vegetable glycerin, coconut oil (and other oils), arrowroot (which absorbs excess sebum and—crucially for us—sweat), vitamin E, essential oils, and several other valuable substances.  Despite some people's concerns, this product can be truly effective, providing a feeling of comfort all day long! What exactly does Starling Natural Deodorant do? Eliminates the unpleasant smell of sweat Absorbs moisture Soothes irritations caused by shaving the armpits Regenerates the skin and prevents chafing Has a bactericidal effect Softens the skin and helps heal imperfections Contains ingredients with disinfecting properties We started the "Natural Deodorants" section with a citrus-herbal variant using baking soda. It quickly received the attention and love it deserved. Soon, you came back to us with two requests: an unscented version and one without baking soda, as baking soda could sometimes play tricks on allergy sufferers. So we expanded our product range and now offer options for everyone.  Cream deodorant – unscented or scented? Although starling deodorants don't have very intense scents and are based on essential oils, we know that not everyone is comfortable with them. If you enjoy the light aromas of citrus, herbs, and other botanicals, check out these versions. However, if you have very sensitive noses, don't like essential oils, or don't want your deodorant to clash with your perfume, choose the unscented version.  Which fragrance-free deodorant should I choose? If you are looking for a deodorant with a neutral aroma, we have two options for you: Natural cream deodorant - fragrance-free: its natural ingredients absorb moisture and, despite the lack of essential oils, effectively neutralize unpleasant odors, leaving the skin dry and well-groomed; this version contains baking soda, so it will be a good option for those who are not fond of it under their arms Delicate cream deodorant - fragrance-free: is a variant for people with sensitive skin; instead of baking soda, it contains magnesium hydroxide, which neutralizes odors and supports the process of soothing irritations. It also improves the condition of the skin, soothes and softens it.  Scented deodorants with pleasant notes We have more of these on board, here they are: Natural cream deodorant - citrus-herbal: holds a special place in our hearts: it was with it that this cosmetic era in our history began, and it is probably the one that most often appears in your homes and is taken on many trips; it contains sodium bicarbonate (commonly known as baking soda) and all other important substances that make the product neutralize unpleasant odors, have antibacterial properties, absorb sweat well, and have a refreshing effect – the fresh scent, which combines green lemon, grapefruit, and Spanish sage oils, has won many hearts. Delicate cream deodorant - tangerine: another nod to those armpits that don't like baking soda – we've once again replaced it with magnesium hydroxide; shea butter and evening primrose oil soothe irritations and help various abrasions heal better, while tangerine and bergamot essential oil is a blend of fragrances that add energy and vigor and put you in a good mood. Natural cream deodorant - cedar and patchouli: if we were to choose the most masculine fragrance among the available ones, it would be this one – although the blend of cedar, patchouli and lavender has fans from both sexes, the fresh, forest notes are particularly liked by men Natural cream deodorant - Lemon Eucalyptus: this sweet and refreshing scent captivated us so much that we were tempted to buy a whole series of cosmetics, including the deodorant; it absorbs sweat, soothes irritations (unless you don't like baking soda, in which case it's not necessarily the case) and slows down the growth of bacteria, thus fulfilling its life's calling with dignity Delicate  cream deodorant Check Yourself: this cosmetic is important to us because its message is important: thanks to its sales, we financially support the Rak'n'Roll Foundation, and we encourage you – girls and women – to examine your breasts from time to time while applying this product and make sure everything is okay; the deodorant itself is a solid composition of good ingredients, known from other varieties, that can slow down the growth of bacteria and deal with the aromatic effects associated with sweating; thanks to rosewood, lavender, geranium, palmarosa, and vanilla oils, the scent is more floral this time   Each of our deodorants is vegan and very efficient : a 60ml jar lasts an average of four months with daily use. As always, we strive for less waste, which is why their packaging is made of glass. If you're unfamiliar with our Starling products, which care for your underarms and your comfort (both yours and those around you), and want to try them out to see if they really do what they say online and in town (that IT WORKS), but buying a full-size product makes you wonder, "What if it doesn't work for me?" – we have a suggestion. Our store offers a set of clever miniatures. We've named it Travelset, aka travel set , because it's quite charming and very fitting. It includes four mini products that allow for comprehensive care during any trip. There's a Super Cream , Flax and Chamomile soap , all purpose shampoo bar , and one of our current heroes: a 15ml Natural cream deodorant - citrus-herbal. It lasts about a month. That's enough time to see if it has the potential to become one of your beauty favorites under various conditions. Sounds like a good plan? We hope so, and we highly recommend it.
